Joint inflammation is characterized by pain, stiffness, swelling and reduced mobility in the affected area.
At Clinique Physio Familiale, our physiotherapist Laurianne Loew plays an essential role in managing arthritis and rheumatological conditions by optimizing joint function, alleviating pain, and promoting client autonomy. Laurianne will support you in understanding the complex impacts of these conditions and provide comprehensive, personalized care.
The rheumatological conditions treated in physiotherapy include:
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Osteoarthritis
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Fibromyalgia
- Chondromalacia
- Post-surgical follow-up for joint replacements
Therapeutic approaches include pain-relief techniques such as manual therapy, thermal modalities, and electrotherapy. A customized exercise program is developed, incorporating strengthening, stretching, and endurance exercises to restore joint function. You will also receive personalized advice on symptom management strategies, including self-management recommendations and energy conservation techniques for daily activities to reduce fatigue and discomfort.
The ultimate goal is to increase joint mobility, improve flexibility, and support functionality in daily activities for an enhanced quality of life, helping to prevent condition regression or inflammatory flare-ups.
