Parkinson's Disease Rehabilitation

Do you live with Parkinson's disease and want to improve your quality of life?

Our physiotherapist, Alexandra Da Costa, is certified in the LSVT-BIG method, a personalized rehabilitation program based on specific exercises. This evidence-based program is inspired by the principles of LSVT LOUD, a one-on-one treatment, effective for motor rehabilitation in individuals with Parkinson's disease.

Our service is tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with Parkinson's symptoms, including:

Resting tremors
Muscle rigidity
Bradykinesia (slowness of movement)
Postural instability and balance issues
Difficulty initiating walking (freezing)
Stooped posture and trunk flexion
Fatigue and decreased endurance

We are here to help you regain strength and mobility, guiding you toward a better quality of life and greater autonomy.

What to expect during our sessions

The initial assessment lasts 90 minutes, during which Alexandra will evaluate your overall health, mobility, muscle strength, balance, and specific motor functions. Based on this, she will create a personalized exercise program tailored to improve daily activity management and emphasize the importance of regular physical activity.

Follow-up sessions of 60 minutes focus on using specific therapeutic techniques to enhance strength, balance, coordination, and endurance for daily movements such as sitting, standing, walking, and climbing stairs. These sessions also include balance and gait training, with safe exercises designed to reduce the risk of falls. Movement therapy techniques like tai chi, yoga, and dance will be integrated to improve flexibility, coordination, and relaxation.

This service is essential for individuals with Parkinson’s, helping them manage their condition, improve quality of life, and maintain independence in daily activities.

"We offer a personalized approach to help individuals achieve their health goals in prevention, rehabilitation, and performance."
